    My new boring job

Is it wrong that 12 minutes into my shift I am already bored shitless?

Ive only been at this job for 2 weeks!!

Im looking through DF and trying to entertain myself!!!

I think I might have to look for another job, the boss has told me that it has never been this quiet before and it will pick up soon!!

Client services being akin to customer support, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I'd of thought a bond trading company would be non-fucking stop!

Mate, I would happily swap my job for yours. Typical day at the office

    1) At least 20 overnight emails from the US which need responding to
    2) Serious drug product defect, particles found in a vial of clin study drug by an Italian pharmacist
    3) Coordinate a recall of all batches of above mentioned drug
    4) Contact European and Italian health agencies to inform them of our findings
    5) Patient #5573 in a seperate clin trial in Hungary has died, field clinical study manager suspects our drug may have contributed and therefore a full report needs to be generated
    6) Meeting next week with hospital oncologists, need to prepare a p.point presentation
    7) Belated Mid year review, still haven't done my Q3/4 2007 goals and self assessment and the deadline is Friday 14 Sept
8 ) 5 new SOPS and business preactices have just been released, which I need to read and sign off on (or I can't legally do my job)
    9) Got to review and contribute to a feasibility document for taking a clin trial to India

    Etc.. Etc..

I do something like a 50 hour week + teleconference in the car/home. I'm a stressed out, caffeine junkie and it ain't fair that other people get to surf the net all day so please Lets trade places

I won't lie the pay and perks are good, but the work life balance is crap and I'm not even that ambitious. Those who are trying to climb the greasy pole put in regular 8am to 9pm working days and are then on their Blackberrys for the rest of the night. I refused to sign up for a Blackberry and I think its been noted by Senior Management

LOL #5573 is their Ident number... we haven't yet managed to kill 5k patients on a single clinical trial. Anyway, our drug is 3rd (last) line chemotherapy so many of our patients are already dying and have a life expectancy in the weeks and months. Knowing whether they died from a side effect of our drug or the natural course of their cancer is understably a nightmare to discern.
