Got my iPhone today!

Unlocked it in about 30 mins and it's bloody marvellous. For those of you waiting for 3g, it's unlikely to happen in November more likely in the "iPhone 2" It wasn't even going to come out this year so it's unlikely there will be any major hardware changes. In fact I've heard that O2 are upgrading to Edge for the time being (they look to have the exclusive in the UK) . The phone is a peach, everything that isn't provider dependent is working INCLUDING Youtube and in fact the apptapp prog has loads of third party apps ready to go, I can't praise this bit of kit enough, gorgeous!! If you hang on the O2 price will be massive since they are not allowed to subsidise and you'll have to get an 18 month tie in, the ebay prices will rise once the sellers in the States see how much we have to pay. I just got mine for £200!

don't believe a word of this tbh, apple recently paid a company that has patents to do with 3g, they said that 3g was included with the iphone in the US due to not enough coverage yet Europe has 3g pretty much everywhere, as I said in the other thread, if o2 are enabling anything it will be the visual voicemail feature which is new and only AT&T have when apple asked them to use it.

all the apple blogs plus money men in wall street predict the 3g europe iphone in november when apple said they would launch the iphone over here although tuesdays press conference in london could mean it's gonna happen sooner.

I won't, the operative word is "rumour" Apple are notoriously secretive but the rumours coming from O2 are that they are upgrading to Edge, O2 are rubbish at keeping secrets although they did a good job on the "we're dropping your allowance numbers" stroke they just pulled!
3G will undoubtedly be in the next version but don't forget that the USA couldn't give a flying feck about what goes on outside their own borders, the early release is probably just to keep AT&T happy by taking the sting out of the unlock shambles. I can't believe they really thought it wouldn't be done but then if they actually LOOKED outside their own Continent they'd have seen just how long phones stay "locked" here. I hope you're right, I'm not sure I'll want to pay the exorbitant cash price that will be asked in the Apple shops, remember, they are NOT allowing subsidy and maybe the contract will have to be signed at the point of sale as it normally is here, it would hurt the phone "bought to be unlocked" situation. Anyway, I'm off to caress my new phone

From an ebayer in New York, a 4 gig is currently £150 and 8 gig £200 in the Apple stores so pay what you think is fair above that. I got 4 gig as the ipod is not important to me and I paid £200 plus carriage. I think £50 is fair for the work involved, paypal and ebay fees and the work of packing and despatching.

She's only showing an 8 gig at the moment, £250, I'll pm the shop to both of you, it's worth messaging her as she may have more than one and is great at comms.

It's worth pointing out that there seem to be lots appearing at a decent price (plus loads of chancers), my eBayer was very good but as long as you're careful you'll find something.

I'm looking at getting my free upgrade and selling it to subsidise an imported iphone. Why are people selling them at about cost price when they've had to take on the contract?!? Can I basically go with any ebay user with 90% plus and a fair few transactions. I'm pretty excited about this, I played with one in california and thought it was great. And I am NOT an apple fan. Blaggard could you pm me the user please (though I might go with anyone!)?

They don't have to take on a contract, the AT&T sim is in the box and has to be activated, so at that point the contract would be taken out. I've read that from the 1 million sold only 600,000 have been activated!
