really, if the UK phone is £269 and it has the same process, i would probably wait for UK one unless your desperate. talking a minium of £29 difference in the price.

Also the quoted £240 for phone delivered is assumin you get you customes charges back! my mate was lucky and his phone got through without being inspected, thats where i got the £230 ish figure from (shiping was $70 from US) if you get nailed at customs its gonna be close to £269 anyway and the added plus that you bought the phone down the road, any problems - Take it back!

I think i read somewhere that software unlocks don't void the warranty... don't quote me on that, hardware unlocks void warranty

As briefly mentioned above, I wonder if O2 will try and work around the current hacks?

Maybe Apple will do a firmware revision that will close all the doors. That said it's not going to be long before it's hacked again.

I think that's probably right, it's easy to flash it back to factory spec with itunes and as far as new firmware re-locking how long before they get hacked again, especially with all that's now known about them? I have the 1.02 firmware stored locally so I don't care if it comes off the Apple server.

I also have the current version of iTunes (mac version) that allows loading firmware from a local drive in case they disable that! perhaps as the iPhone gets more popular ( and it will, oh yes!) we could have a section here in the same way that the Nokia Symbian phones have, we never did get the equivalent for SE UIQ phones grrr!

    please pretty please?
