i remember going from windows 3.1 to win95 after getting a spanking new pc and thinking "where the fook is everythin" lol............oh and saying to myself "1gb hard drive, i will never fill that in a lifetime"....

Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean
    the same thing?

1gb? I can remember choosing a 20Mb (yes, Mb) drive over a 60Mb one, thinking I would never need that!!!

But then, I remember well the days of tape, and 5 1/4" drives too! In fact, went to map a drive the other day and used b:, made me think of the days when I had a:\ was my 3.5" and b:\ was my 5.25"

My first PC had Windows 3.1 and got excited about upgrading to 3.11, on my 107MB HD.

Windows 3.0 on RM 286's. We also had a super fast 386 as well!

That brings back some memory's. I remember my 486sx 25mhz packed with a monster 12mb ram and 100mb HD running 3.11, then I saved about £130ish for an 850mb and thought I'd be "sorted for the future"

    Happy days

Wasn't ME Windows 2000? (Millenium Edition)

I nemember some of those old NT's and 95, ME was the turning point IMO but XP brought us all into the next generation.

No, ME was the biggest disaster that Microsoft ever produced. Gladly I missed that one completely.

Brought back memories of my 286 where I couldn't upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 as it didn't have enough base/extended memory. Finally found out that the bios had a "Feature" that installed itself into base memory and could only be removed with a factory disk!!!

    Happy days

I remember back in 1990 paying £1200 for a 2nd hand 386 DX 33Mhz with a huge 5.25 sized 380Mb HD with 1mb svga card, Windows 3.11 installed on it, thought it was the dogs bollocks & would never fill the HD, still got it in the loft.
