Default Iphone V Blackberry - Email functions

I am currently changing jobs and it seems my new firm will be giving me a Blackberry to get my Email on the move.. Now i am a total mobile Email n00b and have no idea how it works really..

Could i set up an Iphone to act the same as a blackberry?

What does a blackberry do thats different to a normal phone?

This will be a decideing factor in my future purchases

iPhone suxs big time for on the go email at the moment - will get better over time.

Apple will probably support Exchange push email rather than Blackberry so if your company only supports Blackberry push email then I would steer clear of iPone.

Based on what?? lots of opinions about the iPhone from people who don't use it, or do you?
I've been using mine since last Friday and email is sweet. I don't know if it can be set up for "push" email but then I've had a Blackberry and for me it was a great phone SPOILED by ONLY being able to do "push"
Apart from a couple of small niggles, lack of copy or cut and paste and an inflexible texting system (all fixable by updates or third part apps of which there are already loads) I'm finding the phone more user friendly and just plain logical than any i've had, and I've had loads!

edit: according to the Hackintosh forum the iPhone supports push, I guess it might be provider dependent, push needs the server to run it, all the major players here have it but it would need a bit of research.
