ok guys, my trusty Pioneer 111 burner is finally on it's way out, films I burn are now having real trouble playing on my dvd player so it's time to join the great junkyard in the sky with my original 105 and 106 drives.
Anyway , the logical replacement will be the Pioneer 112. However, I have read somewhere that the slower 40-wire cables used on older or slower drives are unsuitable. What's that about ? Will I need to change some cable or whatever or is it just a straight swap like all the other Pioneer drives I've had in the past ?
I have an ASUS A8N motherboard and I have just use the standard IDE cables that came with the motherboard on my computer and haven't changed any of them - will these be ok ?
Sorry for the n00b questions. I just want to do a straight swap with the drives and not have to do any fannying around with the cables etc.
cheers guys !
