Demonoid? is there a problem?

i've not been able to access the Demonoid site all day does anyone know if there is a problem, i'm getting "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

if its down is there any news on when it will be back?

I find it odd that Demonoid would pull the site completely for upgrading and maintenance. It is usually their policy to 1) announce downtime in advance and 2) at least leave a redirect or brief info page stating that the site is down for maintenance.

A sudden disappearance is out of character and hints at legal trouble.

Let’s hope it IS just a tech issue.

Some of the trackers are still working, of sorts. I started downloading a torrent at the beginning of the week, and it's still working. Not very fast and some of the files aren't available as the seeders can't get back on, but it is on. I'm thinking with the threat of it going legal maybe I should stop it!

We received a letter from a lawyer represeting the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and we need to start blocking Canadian traffic because of this.

The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.

Therefore I presume that Demonoid is down until a new home is found.

i cant believe it i used to always use demonoid as it was pretty safe, cant wait till its up and running again in the meantime ill go without till i find another good site

Can anyone reccomend another decent site??

I have been using Pirate Bay as well - they aren't bad, but it nowhere near as good as Demonoid.
