Vista - ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!

For the last couple of months I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!!! I have like a million threads just in this page of the forum! There is not ONE FRIKKIN THING that has worked properly!

NOW COMES MY NEXT OF MANY PROBLEMS

Several files wont start. F.inst Windows live Messenger. I downloaded it from the link that was in the start menu when i started Vista for the first time. I installed it. I double click the shortcut, it loads for a moment and nothing happens. Also with Media player Classic (which is Abitchin, by the way) doesnt start when i click it. But if i check the tastmanager, a new instance of the programs R run everytime i double click a shortcut. Kompatibility modus for XP didnt work eighter. WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM THIS TIME!!!

insert xp operating system into cd/dvd drive
run setup
follow on screen prompts
then 6 months time repeat procedure
exchange sp disk for vista disk

Your not running Vista 64bit are you?

If you are, Vista has two "program files" folders (one for 32bit stuff and one for 64bit stuff) ... I had trouble where vista x64 had installed them in the wrong one.

But to be honest, Mobileman is on the right tracks. I tried Vista x64... terrible. Then I tried Vista 32... better but still too many issues. I then wiped drive an reinstalled XP, and just added vista type app's for XP.

Yep, I stopped that on the PC, it was the only thing keeping me tethered to it, now it's 360/wii, Macbook and as soon as I can wean myself off he bloody desktop, an iMac. Actually now that they are using intel we will probably start to see more ports. EA have already started, now There's a company known for releasing properly tested and finished games *COUGH*

Actually though, he said earlier that he's a 3D modeller, that used to by the province of Macintosh.

Sounds like you need a format. Just do it and reinstall Vista again. This time don't fuck about with it so much and you might have more luck. If not go back to XP.

Every experience I've had with Vista is shite. It's like an OS for fuckin retards too!! I just uninstalled it from my laptop and installed a dual boot windows xp / slackware setup.

I played the dark messiah for hours last night, it's working better than ever; which has effectively caused me to forgive that piece of junk
The problem is that when i run programs, they technically get run; but they never show up.

Is there no PCal 'desease' with that symptom?

I actually switched from XP to Vista, cuz XP was all fucked up. You may find all my threads in this forum by searching for dirty words.

Although I am not a fan of vista I use vista business and it works fine. Havent had any real issues with it apart from MTA doesnt work.

How's that going for you? it's really strange for a while what with everything just "working" an' all! Im only sit at my desktop when I have to, the MacBook gets all the fun!

As to the check your memory suggestion, we've been saying that here and in the another thread started by dahwan since yesterday or the day before, memcheck is easy to use and will at least rule it out.
For the record I also moved to Vista early because I was fed up with the XP BS, if only I'd known that Vista was just XP on steroids, problems and all. Clutching at straws!
