quick question for you Bilbo, can you still do macro with a standard lens? Im saving up for my first dslr and i don't think i will do enough macro shots to warrant a dedicated lens for it, but it would be nice to do the occasional shot of conkers in the grass etc.

You can't really do macro, because by its definition, macro is literally 1 to 1 image sized photography.

look at buying a set of extension tubes. They'll give you the scope to get in really close at under £80 new, and maybe half that 2nd hand on somewhere like E-bay.

I was expecting a "green bottle" as in...a glass bottle thats green. Not a fly lol

Stunning picture. One thing though. How do you get a border like that? ive tried all sorts in PS. not work that well.

    Launch Photoshop.

    Go to Image> Canvas Size

Put a tick in the "Relative" box.

I usually then set the width and height to 0.2 and choose black as the colour. Then press OK.

Repeat the pocedure but this time select the little colour box instead of choosing black, and then the colour picker to select a colour from within the image) and set the width and height at 0.2 as before.

Then a third time, rechoosing black as the colour again, but set the width to 1cm.

That will create the 3-colour border.
