Kids portraits.

I haven't had the chance to get out and take many shots recently so I've been going through my older photos and been trying to get them more presentable.

What are your thoughts on these 2 shots. I'd like to clone out the fingers in the one of them together but haven't managed to get it looking right in my attempts so have left them for the time being. Not quite as sharp as I'd hoped for either but that;s down to not knowing enough about hyperfocal distances and DoF i reckon.
