    Default Microsoft Office 2007

I'm after buying the Full Offcie 2007 programs, can anyone recommend where this is available cheap? The cheapest I have found so far is for £80

It's crap, it was crap in beta and even more crap on release. Do a search and you'll see that people the world over are having problems with it, me included. you're better off sticking with the previous release.

Frankly I don't think it's worth a wank, it'll slow your computer down, if you're lucky, to a crawl. I wouldn't be paid to use it.

Same here, however I did find all the templates and wizards very easy to make something shite (eg...my CV) and spruce it up a bit with a few simple clicks. I soon reverted back to Office 2003.

I've got it on mine as well and i love it, outlook 2007 is miles better than 2003. I've not noticed any issues with my PC slowing down and its a work PC so its not like its a high spec PC or anything.

Consider yourself lucky, calling it a pig on my computer is doing a disservice to pigs. It's not just me, try a search, major corporations as well as hundreds of thousands of private users are changing software at huge expense, I beta'd it and they completely ignored the feedback about major problems and released it with their fingers crossed!

The programme itself is quite good but it slowed my pc so much I went back to 2003! Glad I didn't pay for it

Cheers for all that. Is there much difference between the 2000 & 2003 version because I'am currently using 2000 on my old PC and that is what we are using at work.

    your all talking total shite.

word is probably the least decent of the updates and some things are somewhat confused with the ribbon system..

however excel, powerpoint, visio et al are better in almost every respect.

03 is fine if you dont really make use of certain things, but for me powerpoint and excel 07 shit all over their 03 couterparts. things that used to take hours of pissing about in excel can now be done in seconds, the charting and graphing system is infinitely more customizable, and things look the bollox to boot.

powerpoint.. my god.. the difference between 07 and 03 is immense.. much more interesting and more importantly .. good looking presentations can be knocked up in minutes.. the built in themes and backgrounds are actually even quite nice. for an office product i was quite surprised.

if the only thing u use is word.. stick to 03... if u use anything else.. dont be a fucking sheep and give it a try, the performance of the apps is great (on xp, anyway.. cant say for vista). not as bad as everyone makes out... plus soon enough youll have to as they using entirely new file extensions and file types (.docx .pptx .xlsx etc) that 03 cant open. i used 07 pretty much exclusively for my last year of uni and it made life (and diss and presentations) a shitload easier.

Then you've been lucky, I beta'd it on Xp and it was unusable, fresh install of Vista, exactly the same, also on my laptop. People the world over are having the same experience, either fine or completely unusable.

    sucks to be you

id tell folk to stay well clear of vista, but office 07 is one upgrade i would definately recommend people to try.

remember... you can install 07 but keep 03 installed also... so you dont lose out on anything, you can use both independantly of each other... if it sucks for you.. you dont have to use it.

Yep Vista blows but Office 2007 is pukka in my experience with it (I use Outlook daily).
