I bought my tickets before arriving in NY, from http://www.coasttocoasttickets.com/ so they are reliable. Our seats were 400 something, so at the highest level. Not an issue, as you can see from my attached photo the view was good enough. Also the arena is not going be full, so you can move closer if you wish.

Massive queues between the periods to the food stands, so go early, or then later, same thing for the toilets. Don't eat the hotdogs, massive let down, taste of feet.
Remember to chant along, GOOO RANGERS GO

Some nice pics there cronus71. Were they taken with your new Canon camera ? Am half tempted to pick up a digital SLR when I go over to NY in May.

Will have a look at the ticket link you just posted. Wanting to catch a Yankees game if possible as well.

Yep, mostly with the Canon EOS 400D or Canon XTi Digital Rebel as they call it on the US. Go to B&H, 2nd floor, you can try out a lot of cameras there.

I hope you have a great time in NY, I did

Cool, think I'll definitely be checking it out. What did you pay for yours anyway?

Am sure I'm going to have a great time. I've been before a few years ago with a mate but this is the first time my girlfriend has been so it should be good. This time I;m actually going to plan our days rather than the last time I went with a mate which was to go shopping during the day and get pissed every night!

I paid $834.21 incl. taxes. For that I got, the Camera, 18-55mm lens, 3 year international warranty, 2GB memory, Lowepro bag, 58mm haze filter and a lens cleaning kit.
The camera and lens alone are $599.95

For cameras I can't reccomend a place called adorama enough - can't remember the address (midtown somewhere) but they're decent guys (do try push the sale a bit) that you can properly haggle with and a decent amount of kit.

A colleague of mine just got back from NY, he went to the Apple Store on 5th avenue, said it was really cheap, good service, but loads of people http://www.apple.com/retail/fifthave.../20080309.html

For Nintendo, Sony and games etc. I recommend Game Stop, they have a good few stores, and also 2nd hand stuff, which are extremely cheap http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&...num=1&ct=image

For sat nav, I don't have clue, didn't catch my eye.

Mate, I was in NY for a week in August. We stayed 2 blocks fromt he empire state, on maddison.. The hotel was called the Morgans. http://www.morganshotel.com/

The hotel itself is fantastic. There is a bar and restaurant attached to this hotel called aisa de cuba... The food here is fantastic and not too expensive. the bar is pretty cool for people watching.

We also ate at the Boat house in central park.. If the weather is any good it a great place to people watch and have lunch http://www.thecentralparkboathouse.com/

One of the best bar/restaurants I have ever eaten in was the Gramercy tavern, a short taxi ride or a 15min stroll from where you are staying. The groovy place for thirty somethings to be seen! (not sure if that is selling it or not) http://www.gramercytavern.com/

If you want to shop for some fakes you will get a cold reception these days in china town. They used to be stalles up and down Canal Street selling copies of Rolex, Brietling, prada, gucci.. but there was a massive crackdown last year, followed up recently by raids in the 28th of Feb where some shops were borded up by police and owners jailed!..

I normally go into the shops and ask discretely.. most still sell but you have to ask carefully.. Ask for watches and bags but dont say fakes...! tred carefully.. most owners will take you into the shops basement.. dont be woried.. they are not going to mug and bum you, they are just being catious.

I would also suggest that from where you are you spend a day walking down manhattan isle down towards Wall St, you will go through some fantastic areas and see loads that a taxi would miss.. We planned our walk to take in Chelsea, Maddison park, Grenwich villiage, soho, tribeca, china town, finishing in the financial district.. It was perhaps the best day we spent in NY... Far more interesting than taxi's to the major sites.

Enjoy mate.. Dont forget to take the pi$$ out of the septics at every opportunity !

pardon my ignorance, but what types of stores did you get them in? I'm assuming its not the jewellers...
I hope some do Tag Heuer's... their new Carrera one is fookin gorgeous!
