Mac OS on XP

Hi lads,

My GF is currently doing a degree in Digital Media, and as such is spending alot of time using the macs, however she is finding it harder to grapple more then others, so I was wondering if there was any way of getting her a Mac on her XP computer, I have heard about VMware, but not 100% sure about it, if anyone can help I would be very grateful!

Update:

Hi everyone, I have come up with a good concept, but not sure if it would work 100%. So I wanted to run it by you lot first

Firstly, my GF already has a good spec'd PC built by myself lol.

Secondly, I was wondering if I brought her lets say another 160GB internal Hard Drive, and installed Mac on that hard drive and have the other Hard Drive, with Windows Xp on it, wether I can dual boot these.

Thus giving her the option when she loads up her PC wether to go to a MAC OS or a XP OS.

Would this work?

In theroy yes... but it really is hit or miss loading OSX on a PC. It is more likely not to work than work.

a m8 of mine has it that way but the network card wont work so no internet on the mac

why not do it the other way round and just run windows on osx via parallels.

there are lots of hardware lists and wikis for what works and what you need to fix to make it work

On my inspiron laptop everything was working perfect apart from screen res fixed at 1024 x 768 and they were working on that

best thing is to check the various osx86 forums insanely mac and hackintosh etc and see how well your hardware matches

@ maltloaf is that an inspron with an intel or amd cpu ? I have the 1501 x2 amd turion jobbie here it would be good to know if yours was the same
