Help Need to clone a hard disc

Hi guys, I've used Norton ghost to create an image of a computer's hard disc. However, on recovering the image on to a new hard drive and placing it in to a new computer, I have a critical program that won't run. It must have some sort of security tieing it to the hard disc it was originally installed on.

When I try to run it, it says, "There is no valid license for this product"

The software is called IsyCAM 3.0 if this is any help. The only way to get around this at the moment is to re-enter the serial number which I have unfortunately misplaced. However, the software does work on the original PC/Hard Drive.

What do I need to get around this please? I will give Karma, not bloody thanks to anyone who can help

Don't know IsyCAM, but I wonder if it is recording PC details when it is installed (CPU type, chipset, etc)? A test would be to boot the original PC using the cloned disk. If the software then works, then the disk cloned perfectly but the software is a bit too clever. If that fails, it is probably hiding something in the boot partition sectors. AutoCAD used to do that. Did you copy the whole disk, or just the partition containing the C:\ drive?

This was exactly the case when I tried today. I'm just gonna give the hard drive to the customer and tell him to swap it out whenever he needs to use it.

Booting the hard drive from an external USB caddy results in a BSOD. Cunt.
