well it was this or saw 4, and god am i glad i picked this.

centers around london russian mob and nikolai the scary cunt in shades played by mortensen, who does a great job with some really difficult scenes (including possibly the longest bollock naked fight scene ever). a midwife gets tangled up when some russian bird dies giving birth to a baby and she gets in a bit over her head with the russian god father and his out of control son.

slow start (bar the opening scene), and certainly one of the most shocking and graphic movies ive seen lately, violence and otherwise. its not just for the gore factor either, they do it with purpose and it just adds some real savagery to the proceedings.

dont wanna give too much away as itll spoil it, but safe to say its a very well written and executed story that is sure to leave a bit of an impression.

cronenberg outdid himself on this one.

go see it.

I really enjoyed History of Violence and was really looking forward to this. It did not disappoint. The story moves at a good pace, good script, great cast and some very convincing accents from the actor's. I am really looking forward to the release on DVD as the level and graphicness of the violence had me going. Credit to Mortensen, not many actors would do what he did in Finsbury Park's finest.

I was gutted when the film ended as I enjoyed it that much.

Finally got round to watching this yesturday. I thought it was pretty good. It is supposedly set in London although it took me a while to realise this, the scene doesn't get set too well.

Anyway good acting, good plot and some unexpected twists. Bloody gory too with a lot of graphic scenes wich are more and more frequently being allowed on modern films.

it was a good movie but the ending was very abrupt, needed to be 30 minutes longer

I think it may be because there is a sequel but not sure

Enjoyed it, and I'm not a huge Cronenberg fan. Although this was a slight departure for him I feel.

Great bath house fight scene, and you get to see Mortensen's cock. Not to everyone's taste but added a certain something to the whole affair.

I'll give it a Cocktastic 7.5/10......
