Default Where to buy good base units

    Hi all,

Want to get my pc upgraded (currently got Intel P4 2ghz, 1gb pc2700 mem, with a Geforce 256mb gfx card) and its underpowered for the future! Also just starting to mess about with video editting and the output that I get from the pc is blurry and jerky and I think that the lack of pwer may have something to do with it.

I don't want to spend a massive amount, hopefully under £300, I don't need any OS supplying, or keyboard/mouse and I already have two almost new dvd drives to put in the base unit so they aren't needed either (unless they are incompatable)

What I'm wondering is... where should I go to buy one, and has anyone spotted any good deals on these? or does someone on DF build em for hobby/business/extra cash etc? Looking for a duo/quad core machine with 2gb ram and a gfx card that can handle the video editting and a bit of gaming.

    Any help will be great
    Cheers
    Russbeer

will do you fine for a few years, the only weakness is the graphics card, Crysis eats the 8800gtx for lunch, however I do know someone who got decent play on the crysis demo with the 8600gt , depends how much of the eye candy you want on.
Even 2 x 8600gt's in sli are no match for the 8800gt just out , however there is a a new gts 8800 due out soon , so you could always get one of them to play crysis and flog the 8600gt to someone who is looking to make an htpc
nice kit though all the same
