Enter your full serial no. into here and it will estimate what chipset you have for you.

    its telling me
Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2B.
Your Drive Pins are most likely cut.

the only other wii i chiped was my launch machine .
if the pins are cut do i just use same pic wires ,and deremel the pins out
    on the chip ?
and what code do i use for max compat with new ninty protection
    thx guys

Yes mate, just dremel away the resin, then solder onto the exposed chip legs. Have a look at some of the pics I posted here.

As for which chip, go for WiiKey IMHO, but if your willing to wait a bit, then I would go for WiiFree, they'll soon have a stable code to use with the new protection.

At the moment you can use the codes posted here if you want to use an open souce mod that works with the new protection (code is based on the WiiFree code), just remember to download the appropriate one for your chipset!

And you can also make your own WiiKey if you want as I have explained here.

Far play Herman, you know your shit!!

BTW, mine is most likely a GC2-D2C uncut. Am I screwed?

Just got my Euro console from amazon.de and it's:
Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2B.

Your Drive Pins are most likely cut.

I assume that is a good thing rather than a D2C? Problem is my serial is very close to the D2C so could be one when I open it

no mate, your not screwed, but it's a 30 wire install. and NOT a task for a beginner/intermediate solderer! Unless you know your way around a soldering iron, I would leave it for someone who does!

    Here's a D2C Key installation guide

theres a certain element of inaccuracy with the end of the D2B machines and the D2C's. some serial coded machines could be either so unless you bought your machine within the last few month, id double check before deciding which chip to buy (by opening it and taking a look).

As for best chip to go for at the mo, the wiikey galaxy update still has a few problems and none of the free ones are 100% perfect at the mo either, If i was buying one i'd probably go for the cyclowiz or get a progger and fit a 12F629 in a socket on the back of the wii so you can easily update it in future. That is assuming you have a machine that isnt D2C, if you have that your only option is the D2Ckey and the lovely 30 wire install.

Anyone who cant install their own mod, please dont request someone to do it on here, as that would be against the rules, please PM someone on here that sounds like they may know what they're on about...
