Tech PCI TV Card - Advise needed...

I have just invested in a nice 32" Samsung Display (not TV), which is going to be used in my room.
I have a P4 IBM S50 USDT which I intend to used as a media centre - running a Sky+ Box through it as the TV input.

However, there are some issues preventing me from finding a good TV card to run the Sky box through.
    • The desktop only has low profile PCI slots
    • I can not find a PCI card that has an input that is common with the Sky+ box

In a nutshell, I need a low profile PCI card (the machine does not have AGP or PCIe) with either a SCART or Component input. I guess it could also be USB?

    Any suggestions?

Can I ask why you want to run the Sky+ via the PC is it to backup recordings?

My experience of tv cards is they are all shit. Just use the sky plus to record things if you are paying extra for that.

In a nutshell yes - also, I would like all of my media (Sky, Divx, DVD, PC etc) running through one channel on the monitor (i.e AV1) soI can use the Picture in Picture feature of media center. It would be nice to watch Sky Sports news while I play online.

As you are mentioning component I assume you have SkyHD or do you mean composite I dont think a normal Sky+ has a component out?

The reason I ask is that if you have SkyHD then you also have the HDMI option of course.

I will have a sniff around!

Yea, your right, I am getting mixed up. I do have SkyHD as well but that is for the living room.

    Cheers Nibb.

Composite in from a normal Sky+ should not be a problem for a PCI card.....dont think I have ever seen a scart one.

Christ I forgot s-video as a possible input from the sky+!

    This one may work.

Of course you need a normal red/ white to audio plug to connect the sound as well as the s-video.
