get numbers off a v3 onto another phone?

ok guys i have a v3 piece of crap and need to get the numbers off it, which i can do using the motorola phone tools that came bundled with the phone......... but how do i find them on my computer?
i am upgrading to a htc tytnii and need to put the numbers on it.
sounds crazy but i just can't do it..
there must be a way to get the contacts from my v3 to my computer?????
or to find the ones that the moto software took when i backed it up?

my brother-in-law had something similar but everytime he put his sim into it he needed a puk code.......??? not a route i want to go down if i can avoid it.

different networks assuming the new one will be locked to orange and the v3 is on bt, need to do it by end of play tomorrow, bt are picking up these phones on thursday at 9

can you not save the numbers to a memory card in the phone or does the V3 not have that functionality?

no memory card on v3, that's why its going, internal memory is crap!

with the phone tools wouldn't you have to export the names as .csv file first? then you should have a csv file to import in future.

edit: look at page 55 'exporting records'

will try that. all looks like jargon to me when i open the csv file but maybe the new phone will let me import the number from it.........so many different delimiter settings??
