get some paper and mask out the area on your body directly first, before looking for inspiration (your going to need a fair bit of paper old rolls of wall paper helped me) then on that mark out where the major muscle groups are while its still on your body -you will need help so get you wife/gf to help then mark on to that where the 2 that you want covering are and make stencils from that origional one
as for going for the tribal designs are you staying with the traditional (leo zulueta style) or more of the rory keating style (have a look on the ng's for a show called tattoo wars i think it was 102 that had them both in it) personally i like the polynesian style and maouri styles (i have one my self) but they dont always offer the same kind of coverage of older tattoos that the traditional tribal do
if i were you with the masks made and a couple of extras id just sit down and draw even if you dont think its much good try it and try to follow the lines of muscles/ ligaments that way you should get a nice flowing piece my self ive been getting the idea of mixing an old style traditional tribal with the mouri and ploynesian styles as it came down the arm if its any help your welcome to the idea
if i were you id have the older style black designs over the bits that you wanna cover over and then fade them out as they strech out over your chest and around your arm, then as you get to the end move to the polynesian/mouri styles
and yeah you will feel a fool with the wall paper but its worth it, i still get the piss taken for the last time i did it with wall paper but i got the design right and my friend who i did it for was very happy with the result
Just the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.
