After a week of using this I am sticking with it. Superb once you get used to to the menus and it's a doddle to use. Once in my car I get a fix in about 30 seconds.
hi guys,
when i try to install the garmin software i get an error message saying
"a supported install location was not found. please make sure to complete the following steps."
I have done the steps it says and still nothing.
Any help would be great
i had to put the n95 into mass storage mode to install the software. You can either do that or put your micro SD in an external reader and install it that way

Will upload it to megaupload now & then post the link.
Can't test it myself as I've still got a N70

yes its in Italian and does look like a fresh install, done a translation and it looks like a new install
I just copied and pasted all files/folders except the map/voice/help folders to the garmin folder on the phone, and then searched for the .sis file via the phone and updated.
Not sure as i've not had a chance to use it properly yet...the route i take to work is only 3 miles and it never had a problem with that route, as i know what you mean by slow instructions.
Only thing i've noticed so far is that you can change the arrow on the map to a car/bike etc lol

Hi guys just got an n95 and installed this. Had some teething problems installing but think its OK now.
My question is when you come out of garmin back to the phone desktop, the garmin software still seems to be running as when i go back into it it fires up straight away from where it left off. Also its still giving out instructions while not in the program!
Basically wanted to know how to do a complete stop on the program when exiting it so that its not wasting battery power. Also how do you turn the GPS off after using the software, as again I want to conserve battery life when not using it
Thanks people!
are you exiting the program from the menu or are you just hitting the phones menu button or the red 'end' key ?
ive always used the exit function from within the program itself and it seems that works for me

ahh right I will give that a go. Does the inbuilt GPS automatically turn off when your not using the garmin etc...?
yes Gps turns off when program exits and yes it does eat up your battery big time if running in the backround.
If you hold on to the menu button it will show you your running apps you can exit whichever you want by pressing the C button. So you dont really have to re-open the program
This is excellent for a mobile GPS! I got my N95 last night and decided to have a play so whacked it on the mini SD, popped it in and used it on the way to work this morning, spot on (after I'd followed the guide and everyone's suggestions that is!). Cheers to all who contributed.
