I messed about with converting TomTom camera files and then load them with the Garmin program and transfer to phone. Did they work, did they bollocks...

just used this (the old version) on a 150 mile round trip. The phone was in the little cubby down by the gearstick at the bottom of the dash and it didnt lose lock or send me funny ways at all. very impressed

The speedcams in post 42 loaded with POI Loader work fine for me.
Just installed this on my N95 using the GMAPSUPP.IMG map of the UK (I think) - 128,004kb.
Used the keygen to get the codes & made the two files GMAPSUPP.UNL & SW.UNL (checked & the file extensions are correct). All the files are in the folder named ' Garmin '
The software works & it sees the internal gps receiver, but when I try to look at the map I get the message saying No Map. Every time I try the keygen I get a different code & have tried a few different ones, but still no luck with it. Can anyone help to get a map working please ?
[EDIT] - Found I needed to add another file named " gmapbmap.img " 10,248kb

Out of curiousity, how much would this garmin software cost if buying it?
50 quid m8 from most places including garmin
Ive just installed the POI loader and then installed: http://www.mininova.org/tor/1026560 [Garmin GPS UK Speed Cameras - 20 Aug 07]
I can see the it installed in Extras>Custom POIs> then it has a list of (1)pocketgps_uk_specs (2)pocketgps_uk_redlight(3)pocketgps_ukpmobile etc...
How do I use these speed cameras? does it actually indicate where the speed cameras are on the display when you make a route as you are driving?
For those who have this installed and haven't yet installed the RotateMe app then you should do it! I installed it this morning and it makes using the satnav so much easier. Because you have to have the slider open it meant I couldn't have the phone on its side in my spare din space but with the RotateMe installed I can. And its cool as fook anyway. Link to the post below. It took me 30 mins to get it installed and working using the instructions. Was no harder than installing Garmin.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE .TXT FILES BACK TO HOW THEY SHOULD BE??
none
Open up a folder on PC - go to Tools - Folder Options - View tab - scroll down & untick box for Hide extensions for known file types.
You should now see the two files -
GMAPSUPP.txt
SW.txt
Right click on each one & re-name - change txt to UNL - then say YES when asked if you want to do this.
Should now have two files :-
GMAPSUPP.UNL
SW.UNL
delete the .txt from the end of the filename
it should end in .unl
EDIT - guess we posted at the same time Russ - follow your advice it's much clearer than mine

I'm trying to install the speed cameras via the garmin poi loader. However when I try this the poi loader cannot find my device! I get the same message in two pc's (see thumbnail) so I'm guessing it's a setting on my phone but I don't actually understand the massage. can someone enlighten me please?
