I think the purists will condemn the film for being rushed but considering that I have never read the books then I just enjoyed the film for what it was. A good kids adventure film.

Although I did feel that we have seen this all before is other films... plenty of comparisons can be made with Star Wars, LoTR and even Harry Potter (although the copy was the other way round!)...

Good enjoyment for kids and nothing really to warrent stopping young kids watch it either... sets itself up nicely for the next film.

Went to see this last night and the first thing I thought when I left the cinema was 'I want a Polar Bear'. After that I thought it was a very good film, if not, as said above, a little bit rushed. And the girlfriend is a bit of a nut about the books and she enjoyed it too although we both thought it had been dumbed down a bit for the kids. Still good though.

I can only guess that the atmosphere at the big screen overwhelmed the other reviewers - you don't have to rate it highly just for the kids you know?

I can only hope that the books are better and that kids are reading things as bad as this film.

The polar bear is cool though - excuse the pun.
