can anybody give me a hand flashing a benq, can't find msinfo??

hi

i'm using a tutorial with dosflash.

i've formatted the usb stick etc with hp usb stick format tool.

when it says to go to "Start > Run > msinfo” to get the number for my ports though it just comes back with an error saying windows can't find it??

is there another way of finding this out??

get iprep, thats easy peasy to use.

have already got that, i used it on a samsung ms28.

the tut i have only covers what i've mentioned though mate, do you know of another tut with iprep??

if u use dosflash in auto mode from dos you dont need to worry about the port stuff mate
just type dosflash
and follow the prompts

ummm, i don't really know what i'm doing unless i'm following a guide mate tbh.

do you know of a guide to doing it that way??

just need to find my guide for wiping my own arse then i'll be sortedlol

I used dosflash32 im windows and it was so easy, and if i can do it , well!, read, erase write, 30 secs approx, sweet,,, i could not sort all that io stuff out so tried a few options and this came up trumps, paulyd2k

everytime i try and load the firmware into iprep it keeps giving an error and saying that there is no valid firmware loaded.

i've dowloaded the firmware from xbins and off here and still the same, also using latest version of iprep??

any pointers guys??

have just got it sorted though, needed to update the iprep apparantly even tho i'd downloaded the latest version.

had a slight brown trouser moment when i thought i'd bricked the drive as the firware wasn't writing but got there in the end.
