    Default micro sd card "locked"

    bought the misses a samsung u600 along with a 2gb ms-d card, a have a problem in that i cant write to the card, when i put it int my card readre it says its locked, when i connect the pc to the phone i cant transfer files that way either, im truely stumped, ant advise would be greatly appreciated

    have you tried switching the little switch on the side of the card? it should have a locked switch that you can turn off

    If the above suggestion doesnt work then I am pretty sure I can unlock this, but it will loose all the dats on it.

    I dont think there is any free solutions available though.

    there's no switch on a micro sd card, theres also no data on it as i cant write to it

    have you got the adapter to make it an ordinary SD? - i think the adapters have a switch - you could try that and then go from there.

    tried that, still the same, disc is not writable

    reformat it

    I remember years ago there used to be a low level format tool for flash memory cards to recover errors etc but ive not heard of anyone using it or needing it in a very long time

    I had a problem with a digital picture frame and used a program called killdisk that sorted it. Might be worth a try m8, www.killdisk.com

    Try formatting the card in the phone first, then try writing via card reader.
