North East Photography Meet

After noticing there are quite a few members from the North East and the surrounding area's I thought i would try and arrange a meet one day.

Me and Dappa are already trying to arrange something for next Wednesday, we are yet to decide on the venue but I was gona suggest..... St James Park

It doesn't have to be that soon, but maybe try and get a meet set up... maybe once per month

We could even try and base it on the Photo of the month competition on here.

I work shifts so I am available during the week as well as weekends so Im sure we can sort something out.

Let me know if anyone is interested and maybe we can arrange something

Seems we have a few interested which is good.

Also the weekends are more popular with most of you lot so we will have to plan a weekend day in.

I will look at arranging a weekend day in the next few weeks

Because of my shifts at work I may not be able to make every weekend one but I can do weekdays most of the time.

Im easy on where to go really so if anyone has anywhere they would like to go (more than 1 place may be possible) then feel free to post the places, we can keep a note of them and arrange the meetings around them.

I also have an interest in Urban photography so if anyone wants to visit an old building or closed down asylum then I'm always up for that

Angel of the North

Derelict buildings
Theres a derelict hospital at shotley bridge
Shields Pier

No seriously though, I have to vito Stadium of Shite on general principal

The Angel is really a place you will spend 5 minutes so not worth the trip in a group really.

Out of the rest:

High Force (Wot?)
Quayside (all too familiar but nice shot opps obviously)
Any coastal spot (I love coastal shoots )
Derelict buildings (Always a good subject and I'd love to get more into Urbex)
Theres a derelict hospital at shotley bridge (Great...)
Shields Pier (That appeals)

Other options:

Coquet Valley (near Rothbury)
Breamish River and Lynhope Spout waterfall - Nice walk to the waterfall
Seahouses and Bamburgh Castle (if everyones cool with the hour drive)
Tynemouth Priory and surroundings
Hexham and Corbridge

Yeah, High Force and Raby Castle look the biz... Alnwick Gardens is also a great spot, but always lots of kids about so depending on how arsed you are, you may have to be careful where you shoot.

Yeah defo interested in High Force, Ive been to Alnwick gardens and must say was well impressed but it was very sunny day.

Some good ideas on places to go so far but as you are all aware the North East has loads of places to go so should never be stuck for subjects

If any one has any problems with this or wants to go somewhere else then please state.

We could maybe arrange to meet somewhere and all jump into maybe 1 or 2 cars depending on where we all live. (I live in Forest Hall)
