Default Todays trip to the Beach

Took my daughter along to the beach for a shoot today, jesus it was cold.
Took 80+ shots but only pleased with a few, i need some serious practice with settings.

Personally, I favour the last one, childhood memories... down there and Marsden Bay / Camel Island...

The second shot is an absolute cracker DB... Great colouring work on it as well (even if you just used the preset sepia ) ... Really tho, i love it... The rest are just nice beach shots. The B&W would be better if you cropped out all the sky above the cloud definition. Don't need it..

Info Re: Todays trip to the Beach

    They aint too bad m8

    1) To much sky in the shot with no detail due to conditions
    2) The best shot ( You not get the little one trousers to fit her LOL)
    3) Horizon needs straightened to do this :
select ruler tool.. right click dropper on tool bar..
using mouse click once on left hand side of horizon drag line accross to right hand side
    then click on image-rotate-arbitary
then click ok on the prompt box that appears
This will straighten the horizon and only requires you to crop the image.you do loose some of the image but it will look better

The same for the last 2 really straighten and then use the old Hue/Saturation commands have a play around and see what happens

I usually start any image by straightening it up and then adjusting the Hue/Sat

Do you take the pictures in RAW?

BTW this is only my opinion and I aint no pro myself

Big improvement... If you get time, you may want to try burn out a little more contrast from the sky. In PS, make a new layer selecting Soft Light from the drop down and ticking "add 50% grey" box. Then use the Burn Tool on the grey layer to draw out the contrast selectively (set the flow to about 20-30% and soften the brush).
