    Nifty fifty is a better option than the macro DB. Get used to using the 50mm lens and then get a macro in a few months. I've got the sigma 105mm and it's great but you need a decent tripod and unless you've got a decent flash unit not much use indoors or when the light is not so good. Outdoors on a sunny day it's great though.

    Sigma lenses are the nuts i'll agree, but their quality is known to vary greatly across batches, Ive heard of people returning the same lens 2 or 3 times before they get a good version. For the sake of not having that to worry about, Id go for the Tamron, since theyre both as good as each other. The ant pic I posted is from the Tamron.
