    Question Local Teams

A post in another thread got me thinking that this would be quite interesting.

Geographically, what is your nearest football club and do you follow them? Not support, but keep a look out for what they are doing and hope they do well.

my nearest team is a semi-professional side called Bedfont Sports (who i have the pleasure of playing for, all be it in the resies!) My nearest pro team is Brentford, and i follow them every saturday and always keep an eye on them. The reason i support Arsenal is because my uncle has been going to Arsenal since he was 8 years old and he took me to Highbury when i was just getting into football in the early 90s and now im hooked!!

Mine is shelbourne and no, I don't support them. I used to go when I was a kid, but there was nothing else to do
English wise, I think Liverpool might technically be the closest side... but there is more chance of BBK having a threesome with Halle Berry and Kirstie Allsopp than me ever supporting them.

I live equal distance really to both Bristol city and Bristol rovers, keep an eye out for both teams really if i had to say which one i supported it would be the rovers (because of family) dont really support football that much tho.... Rugbys my game and i do support Bristol Rugby (who ground share with rovers) been going to watch them since i was 14

Does that mean you are near Bedfont Lakes m8? I'm not far from them myself. My nearest side is Chertsey Town, who are in the Combined Counties league (which is a long way below the likes of Havant and Chasetown I think!!) - I've been to see them a couple of times. My nearest proper sides I guess is Woking, in the Conference. Not been to see Woking for a few years as I moved, but I've travelled all over with Woking, to Wembley cup finals and also to Everton in the famous FA Cup loss of 1991. My nearest top flight side - geographically I guess its Fulham by a about a mile as the crow flies from Chelsea, though it may also be Brentford tbh, I'm not sure.

Nearest club is Barnet, I don't support them but always keep an eye out for there results. I grow up in Leeds but moved down south for work 8 years ago.

Used to be Ossett Town and Ossett Albion before Emley and Wakefield joined forces to become the imaginatively titled Wakefield & Emley AFC. League club was Leeds and I had a season ticket at Elland Road for most of the 80's.

Now it's Halifax Town or maybe Huddersfield. Hate both the fuckers, along with Bradford. Cunts

My local team is Slough Town FC.

I used to go when I was younger mainly because it was only a pound to get in. I used to have great fun in the crowd, you have to love non league football banter with the oppositions goalkeeper. Back when I used to go they were in the Vauxhall Conference (or whatever it's called now)

Unfortunately since they lost their ground they have slipped further and further down the leagues and now play in Southern Football League Division One South & West.

I always check to see how they do but most weeks it's quite bad lol.

My closest non-league team is Bromley FC. http://www.bromleyfootballclub.co.uk/
My closest Pro team is Crystal Palace or Charlton.

I do look out for their results although I support Arsenal as my parents come from Islington

Well grown up ina Manchester United family so my passion lies there. Don't really give a flying feck about any others. But suppose my closest premier League side is Bolton, bout 10 mins from my house. Grew up in a place called Atherton so nearest semi-pro teams were Atherton Laburnum Rovers and Atherton Colliers, who were, possibly still are in the same league as FC united. Oh and the mighty Leigh RMI, formerly of the Conference and on a one way trip to oblivion.

Milwall is the closest Geographically to me closely followed by Charlton, I do keep an eye out for their results but dont really give a toss either way but its nice to know how they got on i spose!

Growing up as a lad Gillingham was my closest and i was always interested in how they got on
