The voice sounds like that same guy a while back who ripped the piss out of two coppers that were asking him for details when they weren't entitled to.

This is nothing new, anpr technology has been used for a while, I know they use it to detect repeat non payment offenders, although I suppose it is possible (but I doubt it) that it would also be linked to the police database.

At the end of the day, all that is being transmitted is the vehicle reg and maybe a photo, nothing that anyone with a video camera couldn't capture.

This is nothing new and nothing special. Sounds like the bloke will next be trying to make a bit of an NWO conspiracy out of it, but he's too thick.

i'm so sure that i'm safe from numberplate fraud that i have mine written in big fuck off reflective letters on the front and back of my car for all to see

nobody would complain if a shop keeper had a mental record of a few local shopkeepers so he could tell them to piss off, why shouldn't texaco keep an online database? they might as well take advantage of the fact that they have loads of branches, its not any different from those neighborhood watch things where shops phone round with descriptions of dodgers or householders phone round telling everyone to lock up well that night cos they've just been robbed.

for me to believe any of that shite about it being insecure the guy who is filming the video would have to whip out his laptop and show me how he can access useful data about me from it

if it stops some fucker from nicking fuel then it makes mine cheaper and i'm all for it

It is possible to legally drive a car without docs if you have trade plates, and I know of a few people with trade policies, so their cars would come up as uninsured, as they are insured to drive anything up to a certain value.

Thats just a load of bollox anyway, all it says on the vid is that you have to wait a min for the guy to press the OK button on the pump so that the CCTV has got the number plate. You'll have to be a fool to think petrol stations are having technology like that to stop people driving off it would cost a bomb. Its only for collecting evidence.

Sorry, but the technology is already in use for precisely that purpose at many stations.

Next time you're filling up at a tesco, look around at their tills, I bet you will see a screen picking up numberplates.

Most garages have them to stop drive offs havent seen them where they send off the info elsewhere though, the biggest risk on that site was that cock walking around with the non intrinsically safe camera which could have caused an explosion.

i would have thought the hot engine and exhaust would cause an explosion before a low voltage camera.

how about the high tension ignition system.

I've been at a petrol station before with the cashiers screaming at a guy who was on his phone whilst filling up. My phone has rang a couple of times whilst I have been filling up and i've cacked myself lol

after pumping fuel in to a vehicle next step is to pay for fuel.
then one returns to said vehicle and procedes to insert key and start vehicle

the amount of current going trough the starter motor causes a lot of arking inside the unit.
but that does not cause the garage or pumps to explode.
as the engine turnes over also the altanator starts to produce electricty and the sparks from the carbon brushes in contact would ignite any vapours befor any
spark from a mobile or camcorder

I don't use my mobile in petrol stations because you tend to get a load of grief off the cashiers. It's a load of bollox - if anyone saw the braniac experiment, i'd be more worried about filling up next to a chav
