One thing to watch out for, cheap brake pads sometimes squeal.

Are you in the UK as you have put a Euro price? You should be able to pickup brake pads in most good motor factors, but remember as with anything, you pay for what you get. You can probably get cheaper brands so if your looking to upgrade or whatever, maybe check some Audi forums or something, or maybe a DF member with a similar car could recommend some.

As for fitting, if you don't want to fuck about yourself, try a local garage and tell them you have the part. A friend of mine had to get his BMW done, he got the pads & discs and then rocked up at a garage (BMW one) on a Friday afternoon and got them fitted for £30 cash.

thats exactly what im trying to do.

buy good brakes and get them fitted cheap

rather than average brakes and overprced labour.

im in ireland so there a hell of a lot less shops than the UK
best deals are to be found online here.

dont mind paying the extra bit thats no hassle
just need a decent site where i have a choice

Check out eurocarparts.com, spot on and most of the time its OEM kit at a lot cheaper than dealer prices.

The tool for removing pads is not always necessary pretty sure on A4 its not then like you say find a friend or garage monkey after a few extra quid

I have used them for Audi, BMW and the odd VW parts

Well it's 2 pads per wheel, so what you mean a pair?

You need a set for rear and a set for front. Unless you have drums on the rear, then your just need the fronts.

Get the pattern parts but make sure you put some copper paste on the backs to avoid squealing (Matron)
    If at first you don't succeed.....redefine success. . . .

i mean i just need one of each of these.
    not 2 of each

whats confusing me is the garage said 60 for front and 40 for back

    they multiplied 60 by 2 and 40 x 2
    when quoting
