    Default connecting laptop to tv

    Hi

    Trying to connect laptop to the tv. tv has no svideo only scart so i bought an svideo to scart connector. Connected up but picture only in black and white. Any1 got any ideas

    Try putting you refresh rate on your display settings down to 60 or lower

    I have never tried that setup as I use VGA, but things to try (which you probably already did) is to make sure the source on the TV is right. E.g. s-video or scart.
    Also on your laptop, you need to check the display properties, and as you do get a b/w external image it means the TV is recognised, but you should check the output if it's PAL or NTSC and fiddle with them.
    Could be your cables as well, or then if the tv is very old,then it's probably not going to happen.

    you haven't got an s-video enabled scart port. You need to knock something up yourself where you connect together the chromiance and luminosity of the s-vid connector that should turn it into composite.
