K800i unlocking for free

Here are the instructions and the files to unlock your k800i CId 52 2020 for free i have just tried this on my own one locked to 3 this is a patch so if you update your phone via the se update service you will be back to square one all files need to be unzipped
these are all the files i used so i know they work
You will need the following:

SIMLockPatchGen 2 (free from http://simox.5gbfree.com)
SETOOL2LITE (v1.10)
XS++ (v3.1)

SIMLockPatchGen 2

First of all you need to create the unlock patch

Load up the software and then select the MAIN firmware you wish to make the unlock patch from (I presume that this can be any but I chose the K800_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn), it should auto detect which phone it is for and the firmware version.

Click on Make Patch and it should create a VKP file (this is located in VKP directory inside the directory SIMLockPatchGen 2 is installed to).

Ok, now time to move on.

SETOOL2LITE

Load up the software and change the Phone Type to K800.In the right hand side tick bypass db2020 security

In the big box on the right (Files area), click on Add and select the MAIN file and then do the same again and select the FS file (make sure this corresponds to the MAIN file you created the patch from in the previous step - NOT A DIFFERENT FIRMWARE FILE).

Now, in the MISC files area, browse to the VKP file that was created before ...

Now click on the FLASH button

Connect the phone as per usual by taking out the SIM card, then the battery. Re-insert the battery and whilst holding down C button on the phone, connect it to the USB cable (other side of it should already be plugged into your computer).

Flashing will begin. After a while, it will ask you to remove the cable, remove the battery, re-insert battery, click READY and then re-connect it to the USB cable whilst holding down the C button.

Again, after another while, it will ask you about the script file, just click on the NO button to apply.

After a couple of minutes, it will be completed and you can disconnect the phone from the USB cable.

XS++

Load up the software and click Connect.

Remove the battery, re-insert battery, and then connect it to the USB cable whilst holding down the C button.

Ignore Flash File System and Main Firmware.

Instead, click on the third box (Customize File System)

Select phone model to K800

Then select CDA and Region (you can look on the left hand side and see what CDA you already have), just check in the drop down list and find the one that matches. Even if not then find the one that is closest (didn't do mine any harm).

When Ready, click Flash.

Wait a while it will say when its done disconnect all and its all done

Must be a typo bud...
Can't see a way of removing the sim before the battery, just had a look and it's not gonna happen imo
Could be wrong... Hopefully as av got 1 of these needs unlocking

biggy was yours cid52 because these require a bypass procedure and last time i checked this was not freely available.

i think it will only work if this has cid52 bypass procedure otherwise you cant flash cid52 worth a try i guess.

I have unlocked mine fine, but i did it another way round which i have copied below.
It only works on cid52 phones and firmware R8BA024, and its a patch. If you upgrade the firmware again it will re-lock the phone.
Mine is fine and works with other sim cards.

Unbrand
Start xs++
Turn of the phone.
Press the button connect.
Hold "C" button on the phone and connect the DCU-60 cable.
if CID is lower then 52 xs++ will ask you if you want to upgrade CID press yes.
Tick flash main firmware and browse for your main.
Tick flash file system and browse for your fs.
Tick customize file system select phone model and region.
Press the flash button and wait.


Upgrade CID
Start xs++
Turn of the phone.
Press the button connect.
Hold "C" button on the phone and connect the DCU-60 cable.
if CID is lower then 52 xs++ will ask you if you want to upgrade CID press yes.




Make the patch
Start patch generator.
Open firmware in the patch generator.
Press the button make patch.
You will find the generated patch in a folder called vkp.


Apply patch
How to apply patch if the phone is unbranded
Start setool2 lite 1.11
Select phone modell.
Tick bypass DB2020 security box. <---(only on DB2020 phones)

Press the button add and browse for the main file.
Add patch In MISC files.
Press flash and follow instruction in setool.

Thanks Biggy for the File. I used Colh's method and it was sweet. I now have a unbranded K800i fully unlocked...it looks so much cooler than the vodafone branded stuff.

Im pulling my hair out, I got the phone yesterday, but the software does not recognise the phone when I plug it in. It still has the message "hold C and plug phone into USB". After I press stop, the error message "phone pre-boot failed, possible recovery needed"
Any ideas chaps? Ive tried the software on both vista and xp

You need to "Complete Phone" m8, otherwise you will keep getting this error.

Use the second software and "customize file system" and that should cure the problem m8.

This does work on other SE CID52 phones, all you need to do is get the correct firmware files and google will find them for you.

e.g. W850_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_RED52.mbn and W850_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52.fbn
