An unemployed man from Oxford has been jailed for 20 months after being caught spending his children's Christmas present money on drugs. The man got frustrated after being unable to find a Wii in stock and got drunk instead. He then bought 516 pills for £300 after being approached by two Eastern European men, which he planned to sell and make a profit to give his kids a better Christmas. He was caught on CCTV and arrested. If only the Wii had been in stock...

She said: "He initially purchased four tablets and took them. He thought they were quite good and went back for more.

"He said ecstasy reminded him of the free spirit of the 70s and he thought he would sell them to improve Christmas for his children."

Miss Tucker said the defendant believed he could make a profit and use the extra cash on more presents for his children.

She added: "The defendant told police 'I thought I might be able to get my way into a good Christmas. I thought it was too good to be true at first but I thought even if they go for a pound each I will be £200 up'."

His lawyer said: "This was a moment of drunken stupidity. He was going to buy a Wii machine and, in frustration at their unavailability, he started drinking. It was not a professional operation on his part but, in my submission, a stupid one."

he should have got 600 for £300... 516 is a bit of a weird number don't you think? the missing 84 will be 'copper tax'.

my mate got caught with loads of stuff and when it came to court more than half of it was missing... coppers aren't very good at looking after drugs...

That's because the amount of drugs affects what sentence you get. The police take some to feed their informants and stitch people up. And no fucker in their right mind is going to complain that they actually had more drugs than what is stated.

I knew a guy who got caught with 10,000 E's and over £50,000 in cash. When it got to court there was no cash and only 10,000 E's! Of course he couldn't say anything because he only got a couple of years instead of 8.

All in it's a win win situation except for the guy being stitched up by the police.

yeah my mate was looking at a lengthy sentence and he ended up walking... there was over 9 oz of coke & speed, a few niners of smoke plus a couple thousand pills missing. plus the prison overcrowding situation helped a bit i reckon...

Hence the word 'prove'. Very hard to do when your dealing with bent coppers mate. Imagine standing in court saying "actually there was a lot more drugs than that!........eh I don't think so.
