New Sky+ HD Guide rollout to continue

The new Sky+ HD Guide will be rolled out to the company's "most long standing HD customers" first, it has emerged.
38,000 Sky+ HD boxes received the new software during the early hours of Tuesday, March 10. Among the new guide's features are an optional mini-TV screen, "now, next, later" programme info for any programme on any channel for 12 hours, and full integration of recording and series link setup into the main TV Guide screens.
"All Sky+ HD customers will receive the Sky+ HD Guide," the Sky+ HD team confirmed on the DS forums. "However, to ensure the roll-out is as smooth as possible we will continue to do this in managed stages. Following the initial roll-out we will prioritise our most long standing HD customers."
So far, the update has only been deployed to Thomson boxes with version number 4E300E, which are among the oldest and rarest in the Sky+ HD box fleet.
4E3004 owners on DS have confirmed that they have received packs today and yesterday, but as yet no download to this model has occured.
I have one of these but didnt receive a pack yesterday...dont know about today!

I got my 'pack' yesterday. All it is is a glossy with screenshots of the EPG and info saying it's coming soon.
My box is a second hand one I bought, but got them to pair my existing card with. So I guess that's how they know what box I've got.
No new EPG though.

The first batch of boxes to be updated are Thomson, the rest will be updated over the coming months.

first batch of 38,000 Thomson boxes were done a while ago , the next *UPDATE* is for a different model number of Thomson HD boxes

I was on the waiting list for HD when it came out, but it had already been out a couple of months. So I'm guessing that my Thomson box is a later model.

Correct they are done in batches and its going to be a while before the like's of Pace etc get updated.

What about those getting their box replaced under the dodgy manufacturing? Does that mean as they are getting brand new boxes, they will be the last to get the new EPG?
What is it with steel wool? Is it steel? Or is it wool?

One of the last ones yes but the Pace swapout system is as follows. The engineer is to offer a recond box (brown box) first and if the customer complains then a new box is to be installed.
Nothing wrong with the recon boxes, they are boxes that have been ripped apart and the insides replaces as new, plus they have a new outside case as well.

Thats up to you but just remember Sky are providing a new 12 months warrenty and 3 months free HD subs as an apology for the inconvenience.
So if the box does bugger up its still covered anyway.
