Hey RR, I'm already on the "supposed" waiting list at play.com, I placed my order a week ago.

I don't really get these Eee PC's. They seem expensive for what they are? Those who are interested in one, what would you use it for and where?

The EEE is the size and weight of a hardback novel. So for sorting digital photos on holiday, surfing the web in Starbucks or tapping out emails on the train its the perfect companion. Its not going to replace my ThinkPad, just supplement it.

for those that want 'em....70 white 2GB ones in stock here...

These guys have plenty of black & white 2GB ones in stock, but wont have any 4GB ones for another 2-7 days according to the site!

The Asus site has the 4GB black & white ones with 1GB of RAM in stock! But the ones with 512MB of RAM are out of stock!

Hurrah... just had a call from my local toys r us to say that they've had a fresh delivery of 12 units and one of them has my name on it. Very impressed with them since I left my details with the store manager over 2 weeks ago not expecting anything much.

<Edit> Just asked if I could grab two and have been told that all the others have been sold.

You can get a class 6 - 8GB SDHC card for about 20 squid and store most of your progs on that... and then wait for Asus to release the 10" screen version later on in the year
