Help Having problems with Airmon/Backtrack etc

I managed to locate and crack two wep keys two nights ago with Backtrack 2 and my laptop (built in Atheros)

Last night went to do it though, same equipment, same conditions and nothing, zip, nadda, not a bean, even tried Backtrack 3 also...as it's a live CD that doesn't change I find it odd?

Anyway, here is the experience so far:

Firstly, proof of signal (Sky is my one)

Attempt with Backtrack 3, I get this far:

    Airmon-ng stop ath0
    Airmon-ng start wifi0 9
    iwconfig
(Problem - Access point not associated....but it did every time the previous night)

    On to Backtrack 3

    Airmon-ng stop ath0
    Airmon-ng start wifio 9
    iwconfig

    Then I type:

    airodump-ng -c 9 --bssid 00:16:CF:5B:95:3B -w output ath0
(My guide actually uses the bssid 00:14:6C:7E:40:80 but I tried that too)

I also tried leaving out {-c 9} but to no avail

This is all I get, left it overnight and absolutely nothing so something is wrong somewhere, I just can't figure it out and I'm a new one to linux also.

If anyone can help that would be great.

ON BT3 I use the following

    airmon-ng start wlan0
    airodump-ng wlan0

take wep essid from the above and stick into

    wesside-ng -i wlan0 -v <essid>

My old thinkpad t23 usually takes a few minutes if the signal is good.

    I don't use iwconfig
