Xbox 360 Some backups come up Dirty Disc Error

Flashed my mates MS28, used 12x backups will play on my MS28 i.e. Bioshock but it comes up dirty disc error on his ma28. The disc is scratched to hell. Weird how they play on mines but not his.

I flashed my mates using v1.4 12x, should I have picked a slower speed.

Other backups i.e. Burnout Paradise that have hardly been played work fine on my mates.

COuld it be that some lasers are more fussy that other. Im thinking of reflashing to 8x, but never reflashed a drive before.

You can try and polish the disc.

    Hi,
At 8x some games that stream alot of data may struggle, I always set @ 12x with no problems, it could be his laser is on it's way out.

its brand new amd he has hardly used it. originals load fine.

anyway ive done a new burn of assassins creed and it loads fine, maybe his drive is a lot more fussier than mines when it comes to the amount of scratches.

I would put it down to the discs then, are you using verbs or arita from neo ?

This is the only 2 I would recommend

Pizzaman said in a thread I read on here that he uses 12x as some games may struggle.. That was good enough for me

its either bad discs (I always use Traxdata, RiDisc or Verbs burnt at 2.4x) or the laser is simply a bit iffy!

Just cos its brand new and reads originals fine, dont mean the laser is 100% perfect! Backups can sometimes be harder for the laser to read, and if the laser is a bit weak then it will read originals fine, but not read backups!
