Slimfast Star Charged With Child Abuse

A TV star and radio DJ has been charged with a number of child abuse and pornography offences.

Bethell was the face of Slimfast in the 1990s

Barry Bethell, who became famous as the face of Slimfast in the early 1990s, is facing two charges of sexually assaulting a child.
The former broadcaster became the face of the diet firm after losing five stone in weight.
He was known for his catchphrase: "I can't believe I was that fat!"
The 64-year-old, from Whitstable in Kent, is also accused of taking indecent images of a child and possessing indecent pictures.
A spokeswoman for Kent Police said that Bethell gave his profession as 'voiceover artist' when he was charged.
He will appear at Canterbury Magistrates' Court later.
