missus wants a tattoo for her 40th?

As per the title - missus fancies a tattoo for her 40th - she's never had one (scared of pain) but has decided to bite the bullet (or anything else she can get between her teeth and have one done)

She'd like a design of Tigger chasing a small butterfly - probably on her shoulder somewhere.

Now a few questions i'd like answering please folks

Can anyone recommend a good tatooist in Dublin? (I'm taking her there for a birthday treat weekend so would be nice to have her booked in for it as an extra surprise if possible)

Anyone know where I can find any designs for such a tattoo (not sure about copyright infringement etc as I know nowt about them).

I'm guessing that cost will be somewhat dependent on the size and complexity/colouring etc of the design but some ball park figures would be helpful (she's not after the whole shoulder done or anything like that, probably around 2-3 inches high max at a guess.

Personally i'd try to talk her out of it mate.

At 40 i think she would regret it soon after, my wife is 40 this year and i'd be gutted if she got inked.

been trying to talk her out of it for 7 years since we met (told her on the 7th anniversary of our meeting - that's the last time I ever break a mirror LOL- she went ballistic ).

She says it's taken her years to decide on something she'd really like to have on her skin for the rest of her life and thats what she wants so very unlikely I'll be able to convince her not to get it done (specially as I agreed to pay for it as her pressie).

We'll be over there mid June time so still time to change her mind I suppose

If she wants it, she wants it mate, support her in it. And it sounds like a fun tat anyway.

But what I would try and talk her out of is getting it whilst on holiday, if something goes slightly wrong or you want a bit of after advice it's a long fucking way to go to get it fixed or get some advice from the artist. Find one nearby that has a crackin' reputation and use him.

Yeah - I'm supporting her m8 - All I wanted was for her to 1000% sure of what she wants and where she wants it - The fact she's had me trying to talk her out of it for so long - not in bad way mind - just things like asking her when she says she likes something to think about it for a while and conseider what it would like like in a few years time etc.- she was dead set on a celtic style band round her upper arm 2 years ago - that idea fell by the wayside, but the small fun Tigger tattoo is the one she's kept coming back to so thats what she's decided.

Like the idea of getting it done local mind - hadn't considered there might be problems.

Any good Tattoo shops in the North East - There was one years ago in Stanley that I seem to remember getting well publicised and some International acclaim, don't know if it's still there or if it's still any good.

Hmmm lets not get into the whole women and their minds thing

She's getting one and I'm paying for it - I know how important it is to get it done right first time thats why I'm starting my research right here, got plenty of time till June so I'm sure we'll get it sorted

If your looking for a tigger design most tattooists have these up the wazoo their really common. If for some reason if you cant find the right design early learning would be a good place with a large selection ......thats the 1st time ive ever said that lol

id tell her to go for it m8 and get it done local, then for her 50th you can pay for the removal lol

Let her get it, its her body and her choice. My Mum got one at 50, she loves it. It is discreet and subtle.
