Cos, would love to know how youre printing. Using a normal inkjet onto A4 size canvas? I'm guessing to get the size I want (1m x1m type size) you'd need some sort of specialist printer that costs a bomb...
Im just keen to find out how you go about setting up a canvas printing solution yourself, in order to both print my own photo's on canvas, and potentially make a little money selling them or printing for others...

it's not as hard as some might have you believe there are a few places doing inkjet canvas roles. i took a chance and bought one off ebay but iv'e sourced the place where it came from which is here

this is 100% cotton canvas treated for inkjets not some canvas textutred paper which iv'e seen floating about
i use a canon s9000 a3+ printer ( plus i allways use original inks ) and the results are photo quality
with the role being 24" wide you need to cut to size ( a3 - a4 ) so i'm limited to 13" wide and 24" long because of the way i'm cutting the canvas
to print 1m x 1m your talking a wide format printer and your right they cost a bomb
its a little tricky to get the printer to take the canvas but if you put a piece of photo paper in the loading tray underneath the canvas it seems to work ok
the printer is set as if i am printing to photo paper setting like this works well, i havn't really tried any other settings yet
you read a lot about pigment based inks and why you should be using them but i know my printer is not pigment based ( some of the newer canons are ) it doesn't seem to matter on the canvas i'm using
a lot of epson printers use pigment inks but i would stick to original inks if your thinking of using canvas
i was worried that the inks might not adhere to the canvas properly ( reading so much about the pigment issue ) but they do so it's not an issue
now the question still remains do i leave as is or do i laquer ????
gonna have to get a tin of water based laquer and find out
