    Default Backtrack installed to HDD.

Not sure if this is actually the right place, as it's really prolly only a linux problem.

I've installed BT3 beta on to a system with WinXp fine. Got a dual boot thing going just how I want, boot menu with lilo etc'.

    I have a few questions...

    1) Is there a way to autologon straight into the K gui like the bootable CD does?
    2) When I shut down, I quit K and back to bash and type poweroff... Can't I shutdown straight from K, again like the CD does? In addtion to that, the next time I boot the BT3 partition it tells me it wasn't shut down properly before and fixes some shit and reboots... What's that all about?!
    3) Asside from hacking (playing) or trying to, wifi networks once I get a key how do I actually get online with it for example?! I ask because even with my key for my network I can't get to connect to my router... The wireless assisstant thing sees the network, but thinks it WEP, when it's WPA-PSK. Entering the key anyway obviously fails to let me connect.

So what stoopid shit am I doing wrong. Sorry to sound a dork, but I don't get on with linux much. I can compile a DBox image and thats about it! LOL!

Will the latest wifi card drivers help me in BT3? I have D/L them but no idea how to install them, help appreciatied!

My wifi card is a PCMCIA Turbo Edimax EW-7108PCg. Supposedly fully supported in BT3...

    ???

    TIA

wpa under linux is not plug and play, you need to use wpa supplicant, its the same with all linux distros

Can you tell me how I would integrate the supplicat into BT3 hdd install?

Think I d/l the right file, but not sure what to do...

And was playing with an app yesterday that had the settings for auto login and shutedown, set them up how I imagined them to be, but the damn thing still wont load op X automatically or poweroff without an error on next boot...

What you need is the wpa supplicant addon, you should be able to find it in the slax module.... I've neveru had to use wpa so really cant help. If you check out the tutorials on remote exploit it should be there
