First attempt

after often thinking "I bet I could do that" with my art and airbrush background, I got some advice last week from a tattooer mate and got some cheapish gear to have a go on some fruit n pig skin.
Had a little play with the gear yesterday and today I sat down with my grapefruit, sketched out a rough design on it and had a proper go.

Anyway, here's my first proper attemt. it's a little rough, but the waxy bobbly surface wasn't very easy to work on so I'm fairly pleased for a first piece.



BTW before anyone has a go, I am fully aware of the potential dangers in tattooing myself or anyone else and the level of sterilization required.

Excellent mate. Have a go on your thighs. Most of the tattooists I know have fucked their upper legs up royally practicing.

i dont think ive ever seen a tattooists thighs lol although i agree most of em have practiced on themselfs, personally id keep on with the pig skin till your proficiant at it and then have a go on your leg,

gotta say though i like the fruit's design, when youve got better at it and had some practice you can do that one on me,

I've been surprised by the amount of people who have been volunteering them selves.
But I don't intend to touch human flesh for a while yet and I'd want to do at least one on my self first.
Hoping to go get some pig skin tomorrow. I have a bigish image I'd like to have a go at next

i got the gear and done a few on myself. wasnt to bad until i decided to do my toe. FECK did it hurt and once i started i couldnt stop.
also done my left leg and down to my foot

how did you go on the outside of your leg and the back of it id have thought that it could be a bit hard to get a good outcome in tricky places when doing it your self

I was thinking maybe just 3 stars down the inside of my calf as a start.
colour them in white.. let it heal.. go back, thicken the lines, colour them in blue, let that heal then go and colour them in black so that way I get a few practice goes without having to do loads of tattoos... maybe

sounds like there could be problems with that m8, possibly with the healing process and then damaging it again and again and again i like the idea of the white ones though that way you can tattoo other things over the top without it showing too much

just made sure before i put the stencil on i could reach round to it
