mate, doesn't matter who you work for you won't get shares cheap - there's a market rate that everyone pays. Some people may have a different bid/ask price to others but you won't get anything (other than share options for the company you work for maybe) cheap. Wouldn't expect a massive return on a couple of hundred quid, might get 20-30% in 6 months but could equally see it go the other way and halve in value. Share trading, whilst you can make good short term proffits, is more a long term thing for most people.

any idea what happened to nighthawk energy? i know the price of oil has come down, but 50% drop is quite a lot? any more news on their land holdings?

They've been a bit slow releasing any info and what they have released has said that some of their wells might only be producing 1 barrel of oil a day. Think their proper results may be out mid next month.

Not sure, the whole market has taken a kicking. Nothing but positive news from them, but all of the markets are in a bad way. Oil is at an 8 year low, which does not help.

Hold tight, most of the brokers are still suggesting this as a strong buy with a target price of 180(ish), so hold tight.

Any new info in the shares world. Just purchased some Disney Paris shares at £3 each. I got these more for the shares membership services that give you discount card for shops, hotels etc but also for long term really as they can only go up from here surely lol....

Any other ones to watch ?

Its all a big gamble at the moment, with very few shares performing well - unfortunately it is still in a bear market. I hold RBS (brought at 10.5p), Barclays (@50p), Churchill Mining (49p), Nighthawk (54p), so half I am down on, but thankfully most of my holding is the banks at a good price.

Oil will probably start to shoot up as OPEC decide that the price is too low, so that could be a good bet.

Tough to call with the markets being in such turmoil. Apparently there is an update due next week on one of their projects. However, of late they tend to go down on good news..

Personally, unless you are shorting right now, I would hang fire.

I've made an 80% return on Barclays over the last 6 weeks. Would have been more (130%) but I sold and bought back in at a higher price then sold again. Looking for an entry point again. They have been an amazing share to trade in over the last 2-3 months.

You still holding Barclays Gunner?

Damn straight mate, they still have legs, and will pay dividends in Q4. That will see confidence flooding back, and they are not state earned.

Played a blinder with them, picked up a substantial amount at around 50p.

I see shares as educated gambling. I'd never invest in a company whose business model I didn't understand and I'm quite willing to lose it all. Saying that i've put a hefty lot into the market over the past few months.

Mainly spread across HSBC, Lloyds BG & Barclays. HSBC is the only one I plan to hold onto long term. My one real risk/reward at the moment is Petroceltic International. I've followed them for about a year and they finally seem to be getting their act together.

I've currently got an average price point of around 2p a share now. It's hovering around 7p at the moment but I have my fingers crossed for a spud in Algeria. If it doesn't I expect a pretty large opportunity cost.

So hows everyone standing? I invested in RBS and in JJB. I've also invested in Greatland Gold and the Mecom group. Mecom are apprently making some annoucments on the 31st May which should be intresting and GGP is a long term investment (You can never go wrong with gold)

I would have invested more but i ran out of capital

Lloyds are still a steal at 109.60 I need to rob a bank :@

Could be a dodgy week for bank shares. The US are releasing findings of the stress tests they carried out on the banks over there.

i was gonna buy RBS but I think i'll wait. Might top up Barclays as they release Q1 results on the 7th. I think they'll be good and should rise if the US don't fuck it all up as usual.

Fuck me!! The banks in the US went through the roof today.

LLoyds +11.7%
RBS +10.6%
Citigroup +7.7%
JP Morgan +10.2%
Bank of America + 19.3%

DOW +2.4% along with big rises in the far East due to better than expected manufacturing figures from China.

Gonna be a good day tomorrow.
