It's way of raising capital. Not great for shareholders really...me and Spennyboy have been mulling this over some stock that we both hold with a company about to implement the same open offer.

Yeh i thought as much..its quite ironic how last week they were giving 1 free share for every 40 you owned.

68p now..might just wait till the 1st and pick some up then

Who are you currently investing in Roach?

Well i just buy the amount i want. You can specify how many you want and then you wait a seconds for a quote or you say you just want to spend £100 on shares and you will get a quote..I'm not sure about playing short/long as I don't have those options with the Halifax

Anyone know when the EU is supposed to decide whether they're happy with the Lloyds buy up of HBOS?

Good shout mate. Lloyds is a bargain, Hawk will fly when the part sale is announced.

CHL also looking on the up.

Thankfully ICX is also going places (cheers Spence)

    Good luck Hawkers!

have a read of that - it is up in the air at the mo, and depends on the Eu's decision about the merger. I personally think it is a good buy, like rbs (medium term, 3-5 years)

Its basically the part sale of some land - the "Jolly Ranch Deal".

There should be an RNS between now and the end of play tomorrow with financial info regarding the sale.

If the sale price is what its meant to be... then the price should double and beyond as its heavily tipped that the sale is a more than were expecting. Price its at now is a piss in the wind - gunner first posted it on here at around 1.50ish tipping for £2+... its still being tipped for £2-3.

I have a 'decent' amount and i know gunner is balls deep in it

I've bought more this morning on the dip, put it that way

i wouldnt expect a big jump in hawk tomorrow - this news is publicly available and is anything, Hawk will probably go down (29th May 09). Still a good bet long term though!

Sorry pal but imo your wrong.

The news of a sale is publicly available yes and has been for a very long time.

The details of the sale and most importantly the financial details are not - and that is what is going to cause the SP to spike.

As long as the news is healthy and what is generally expected, then i wouldnt be shocked to see 75-80p after the news. Its been waiting for it.

However, due to this there will proabably be a huge lot of profit taking from short term/day traders - so the SP will temp be hit with a good few sales. but that will be a dip on the already raised price, so no further down than today.

Bottom line - if the Jolly Ranch deal is what it is tipped to be - then this share wont see 50p again.
