Lose and Loose

Right folks my spelling isn't perfect but it really grips my shit when people get lose and loose mixed up. I'm not having a pop at anyone in particular btw.

Lose is when you lose a goal or lose some money or weight. Loose is the opposite of tight i.e her fanny was as loose as a clowns pocket.

I hate it when I see this used improperly in a sentence.

i can understand peoples frustration, some things make me grimace when i see that people have used a word in the incorrect context, however remember they could have some issues such as dyslexia or such and some people will never be able to get stuff like that write!! yeah yeah i know its supposed to be right!!!

i agree when it is something that cant be more than 100% but rarely is

"you have to give 110%" for example, could shorth for "you have to give 110% of the usual maximum amount that you give" which is fair enough if 110% of that maximum is still theoretically possible. its also a phrase only used by middle management and football coaches who are hardly bright anyway

we had one of those who wants to be a millionaire style lectures at uni today where everyone gets keypads and you have to answer questions by pressing a button for A, B, C, o r D. 121% of the class got one question wrong. that sort of thing would annoy me if a person genuinely thought that was the case, but this was of course just a computer bug of some sort. (offtopic and pointless note: i think it was because two answers were right so everyone who didnt get one got marked as wrong for it, then they got counted again for missing the other answer also. or something...)

presenting percentage data on a bar chart rather than a pie chart, as happens in these lectures, annoys me much more.

as does the always annoying £1.01p or even .50p often seen in shops that still use those oldfashioned daisywheel priceguns and have total retards working for them. i've never been enough of a dick to argue over the price but some day i will
