What exercise equipment?

In work we need some exercise equipment that is both robust, effective and expensive. Our boss agreed that we require some good, commercial-grade equipment as we are all a bunch of fat fuckers who are getting fatter. The space that we have available is fairly limited but will take a full-size treadmill and maybe an elliptical trainer. The boss said that we should order the best available and that cost isn't really an issue. So, are the two pieces of equipment that I have mentioned a good mix? Is there equipment available that will burn more calories and get you fitter?

from my experience with elliptical trainers... they tend to require regular maintenance, oiling, tightening, recalibration etc... anything over the £500 should be sound, as in it wont start creaking after a months heavy use like most cheaper ones will do.
