Look really good mate. I don't know whether I would use the store block much though, from experience they can be a pain when you're busy and taking them out/putting knives away in the right 'hole' or getting knocked over.

I bought a magnetic wall mounted knife holder for my knives and it's a lot easier to use.

Also, probably wise to get a steel (Sharpener) for them and use a wooden cutting block if poss, granite ones look nice but soon take the sharpness off a knife.

Lastly, wash the things on their own and don't mix with the general wash (Unless it's a dishwasher), you could lose a finger or two swirling your hands around in the water picking them up

Best to hand wash, dishwashers dull the blade.

Having said that, I use the dishwasher.

Also worth a note - when washing, don't keep them submerged in the water, wet the cloth/sponge and keep the knife out of the bowl if possible.

Well done for that mate..when I gave up smoking I did the 'kitchen' thing as well .. I recall giving my arm patches away on DF as well as I went cold turkey as the pads were giving me nightmares lol.

using champix from the docs. Work a treat for me, weird dreams to begin with (like really horrible nightmares) but they`ve gone now.

I was in Liverpool at the weekend with 3 folk smoking in a living room with me and wasnt arsed at all !!

They look nice, well done on the smoking. You'll find you'll get your full taste buds back in a few months and you'll appreciate how good food really tastes.

We bought some knives from Matalan a few months ago, they were about £25 or so and they're really good. However, if your cutting on glass boards then the bladeswill blunt very quickly.

Also, knives don't make you a good cook, just ask my wife.

What knives do you actually get in the block though mate? Wish they'd show what you're buying.....
