    Flame Council Tax

Just received this years council tax
Broken down showing the largest gift to the POLICE of 9.7%
Who are these people & where do they reside
Cos all the alleged stations round here are part time shut at 6pm
What are they doing with the loot
Seems like an anonymous piss take

And yes they are apparantly short of funding so are making loads of bobbies redundant.
Makes you wonder where it all goes. Cos it sure isn't going where it should be.

I know exactly what u mean mate, every house in our street is a cat 'B' except ours which is a 'C'.
However every other house has families of 4 or 5 in em. So why do me and my partner have to pay more than them?
Its nothing to do with valuations either, we bought this house for the same price we got for our last house (a straight swap so to speak) but the last house was a cat 'B'.
    £129 a month for what?
If nature always takes the easiest route, what's easier...?
The creation of billions of galaxies each containing trillions of stars each with their own solar systems, some with planets that have evolved civilisations with billions of different life forms. OR The creation of just your imagination?

You lot should move to the london borough of hounslow. We have some of the highest council tax bills in the country yet the facilities given to the residents of hounslow are pretty shabby.

I've worked for our local authority and the organisation was terrible. To say they couldn't organise a shag in a brothel would have been a major understatement. Sadly we have no choice about getting legally robbed.

All pay the same - didn't they try that with the poll tax?
Must admit though - my council here is excellent. I got robbed - they funded an alarm system - and not some cheap shitty B & Q blob either - fully fitted and maintained.
They will remove large rubbish items on request for free. As far as they go they aren't bad. So good on you Derbyshire. I will grimace at my bill with pride.

You can apply for your house to be regraded you know.
Sounds like you have a case. Gather all the info you have just stated above, and go to your council with it. Can't remember wheer I read that, pretty sure it was MSE.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, the funky gibbon.

Very true. I have had friends do this and get the result they wanted. Worth a go.

You even get a refund for a few years if you have been put in the wrong grade which normally add's up to a few grand so well worth checking!

Remember though that when you apply to have your house regraded, it could swing the other way and end up costing you even more.

I will be charged £2811.26 this year and that's just for me and my missus rattling around in our house at the moment. I think it's an unfair system but what can you do....?
