Today I went to setup my 360, and while I was at it I decided to upgrade my FW to iXtreme 1.4, I restored my FW and backed it up fine but I notuced that the eject button on the Xecuter Connectivity wasn't doing anything. I didn't really think anything of it because I could still eject the drive from within Windows.
Anyway I finished flashing my drive and decided to test it before putting it back together. When I tested it the DVD drive would not eject! I hooked it back up to the PC and restored the FW to original, tried it again and it STILL wouldn't work!
So I hooked it back up to the PC again, eject the drive, stuck an original (Quake 4) in and then put the drive back into the 360. Once the 360 booted up I was able to launch Quake 4 perfectly fine! But I still couldn't eject the disc! The drive doesn't even attempt to open, the light in the middle of the "ring of lights" just blinks once and nothing else happens!
I also noticed that when I try to flash it with iXtreme 1.2 it says it cant determine my drive version, but it works just fine with iXtreme 1.4!
I really dont want to have to buy another drive, I only got this one in July after fucking up my 1st one! And the worst part about it is that this time Im 99.99% sure it wasn't even my fault!
Anyone have ANY ideas why this has happened? And how to fix it?
EDIT: After a bit of reading around it appears I may have blown some sort of SMD component on the drive controller board (dont know how, cos I never touched the darn thing)!! Looks like its time for (ANOTHER) new drive!!!
